Flamenco is the spanish folk music. This is evolved out of a mixture of early Byzantine, Arab, jewish and Gypsy cultures in Andalucía. Like many other Spanish musical genres, flamenco goes hand in hand with the dance of the same name. The music is made up of passionate rhythms, using hand claps, stomping feet and small percussion instruments such as cajons. While this genre originally revolved around the voice, flamenco-style classical guitar, with its elaborate finger-picking, has become its most recognizable aspect. Flamenco was first recorded in the late 18th century.
