Spanish naming customs are historical traditions for naming children practiced in Spain. The way of life of Spanish communities has had impact on the names they give. They are similar to those in other Spanish countries. In Spain, a person name consists of a given name ( simple or composite) followed by two family names and surnames. The first name is usually the father's first surname, and the second the mother's first name.A composite given name comprises two (not more) single name for example, Juan Pablo is considered not to be first and a second forename. In Spain this order may now be reversed according to a new gender equality law. There is however another side to Spanish names this side is more somber and serious side of Spanish communities which shows the importance they place on good moral virtues. The traditional Spanish names are there reflection of the many colors that are presented in the Spanish life style.
